This cake we gonna make!!
Ingredients:
1.5 cups Plain Flour
1 large Egg
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup caster sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon bicarb soda
1 cup whole milk, let set in room temp
1 table spoon golden syrup
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
pinch of salt
handful of walnut, finely chopped
Salted caramel
1/2 cup of sugar
15g of butter
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of milk
Let's do it!!
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius and grease 21cm round cake tin with non-stick spray. And put baking paper that cut into round with the tin measure on it.
Cream the oil and the sugar until it mixed well together. Add in the egg. So we combine all the dry ingredient together. Slowly add the dry ingredient and milk a bit by a bit until finished. Don't worry if it curdled, it will baked beautifully, want the moist texture in it!!
warm the golden syrup in microwave about 10 second. Pour into the batter and mix it well. Pour into the cake tin and bake it for 45-55 minutes, if you press it and it spring back it already cooked. Allow it to cook in the tin, and transfer it onto wire racks later.
For the salted caramel, pour the sugar into a pot and in medium heat let it turn into caramel, then pour in the milk while whisk the caramel, whisk it all the way until it become thicker, put in the butter and salt. Make sure it thick and let it cool for a while.
Pout the cool salted caramel onto your cake, and sprinkle finely chopped walnuts on the top for a little crunch and texture.
Serve it right away...erm....
